Festival of Tosai lll: the Secrets of Tosai Selection
On Saturday 14th Of June at 10:30 we are having a very special Tosai Selection and Purchase Day.
We are often asked how we can look at a breeder’s Tosai pond containing hundreds of koi and quickly pick out and catch the best dozen or so. This is an important feature of our trips to Japan that we plan to share with customers who come along on the 14th of June.
You will be able to help us grade newly released Tosai that have been grown on here and see how we distribute them between the relevant price ranges/ponds in the fish house.
We need to place each koi into the appropriate pond. Hence we must decide where the koi belong in the range from those allocated to our outside tanks to those which require a photograph and are placed in ponds in the fish house.
We will also be selecting koi in ponds 1 & 2 to see how they are developing.
An ideal chance for you to see and help, hands on.
This is a task we normally undertake on a weekday, but we thought it would be good to share with all of you since it deals with questions that are regularly posed.
Of course all koi, most never seen before, will be for sale.
If time permits, we will net our two special Tosai growing ponds too so that you will have the first opportunity to inspect a further 500 special Tosai closely.
A Day NOT to miss.
Please let us know via email if you wish to attend, as numbers will be limited?
Closing date will be Wednesday 11th June at 9pm
VISITING TIMES PLEASE READ
JUST A REMINDER WE ARE OPEN FOR VISITING SATURDAY AND SUNDAY 10am till 4pm
Weekday visiting is becoming difficult for us at present due to the workload of our mail order service.
Of course our fish house is always closed during the week
We will accomodate where we can, but please understand we are very busy this year, so weekends are better for us to spend the time with you.
