Richdon News October 2010(posted: 04-10-2010)
Dear Koi Club Member
- This weekend we are harvesting our 100,000gallon indoor growing pond.
- 50,000gallon koi for sale and collections.
- 10% on dry goods, ordering online or in store this weekend.
- Grow & Show 2009 (showa) last day for photographs to be sent.
This Saturday October 9th at 11am we will be harvesting our 100,000gallon indoor specially built growing pond.
These were placed into this pond in early July, and have been grown steadily during the last few months.
The results speak for themselves.
If you have a koi in the 100k, then please let us know if you want it to go back in for a further season.
We NEED to know on Saturday either way, as we will measure and photograph your koi on the harvest day and place back into the 100k on the same day.
Failure to get in touch and we will assume you don't want the koi to be grown a further year and will bring them down to the fish house ready for collection by the end of November.
If you cannot make this event then please let us know beforehand, it is vital you get in touch.
The harvest will start at 11am prompt.
We would advise you turning up at 10am onwards to avoid disappointment of parking!
We had over 50 people turn up for our 50k harvest, we predict nearly double coming along to this event.
It will all be indoors, with a marquee being placed over the holding vats for viewing.
THERE ISN'T any room in the tunnel, but viewing will be made easy for this event.
We will also be providing a light lunch of soup for those coming along to this event, whether you have a koi in there or not.
50k Koi, collections
The response of our 50,000gallon harvest has been incredible. Already 25 of this years tosai have been signed up to grow next year in the 100k. If you wish to grow your koi in the 100k next year then please let us know THIS weekend so we can keep our records straight.
If you don't intend to have you koi grown on next year, please collect by Sunday 10th October. Failure to do so will incur a cost of £10 per week per koi.
Collections of these koi will be available after our 100k harvest has finished, so an ideal chance to collect your koi and see our 100k harvest.
For those which are not being grown in the 100k next year, at this point in time we are not offering a service to keep these koi over winter.
