Richdon News- September 2010(posted: 20-09-2010)
Dear Richdon Koi Club Member
This month is certainly a busy one for us
Here is what is going on
- Harvest of the 50,000gallon growing pond Saturday 26th 11am
- Grow & Show 2009 Showa pictures required by the end of this month
- Small koi in outside tanks last weekend
- Terms & Conditions for 2010 to 2011 growing ponds
50,000gallon Harvest day
This Saturday 25th September at 11am we will be harvesting our 50,000gallon tosai to nisai growing pond. EVERYONE is welcome!
Come along and see us net out over 100 specially selected and grown tosai. We will then place them in a show vat for closer inspection and then in their display ponds.
This year is a difference as we have reserved more koi FOR SALE this weekend. In the past people have come only to be dissapointed that they have all sold. This year we have held back (not been up for sale) several special koi, so you have the opportunity to purchase a very special koi direct from the harvesting pond.
ALL koi will be placed in a display pond for 2 weeks and conditioned ready for collect OR the option to place them into the 100,009 gallon pond next season.
We will of course be making a FREE DVD of this event for those who cannot make it, but of course there is nothing like being there to see the koi being lifted from the water for the first time in just over 3 months.
PLEASE NOTE, if you have a koi with us in the 50k, and you do not intend to have it grown in 2011, then we ask that ALL koi are collected by 10th October.
Any koi left with us after this date and no growing service aquired will be charged £10 per week. We are sorry we have to take such measures.
PLEASE observe out bio-security measures, and walk up our lawn to the 50k & NOT past our quarantine facilities. Signs will be in place to remind you.
Why not take a look at the koi we have for sale on this harvest day?
Don't forget once you have purchased any of these koi you can leave them with us until Next October and collect them well over 60cm. Have a look in the 100,000gallon pond as proof of what we are achieving. We are sure this will give you something to think about!
Grow & Show - Daincihi and Seki Guchi Showa 2009
For those of you who entered this competition can you please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your latest showa picture, with size and GS number by the 30th of September please?
We will then collate and print out all the entries and take them with us to Japan this Autumn for judging. We already have some fantastic pictures sent in, which reminds us how good this competition is. REMEMBER you have the chance to win a trip of a lifetime with us to Japan!!
Small koi tank closure.
This weekend is the LAST weekend of small koi on sale in our outdoor tanks.
They are still at 50% discount and the weather looks good this week, so last chance for you to pick up a bargain.
This will not be operational again until Easter 2011.
